Qingdao Hongchenghong has launched a spray-wrapping service, offering customized shipping for a variety of sizes.
In the field of pipeline corrosion protection and thermal insulation, Qingdao Hongcheng Hong Anti-Corrosion & Thermal Insulation Co., Ltd. has consistently been driven by technological innovation. Leveraging over two decades of deep industry experience, the company officially launched its “integrated spray-and-wrap service” in early 2026, simultaneously opening up customized production channels for a variety of sizes and fast-shipping options. This initiative not only fills a technological gap in domestic pipeline anti-corrosion processes under complex operating conditions but also provides customers in sectors such as petroleum, chemical engineering, and municipal heating with efficient solutions through a comprehensive “equipment + service” full-chain model.
Technological Breakthrough: A “Double-Insurance” Design for the Spray-Winding Process
Traditionally, pipeline corrosion protection has relied on either single-layer coatings or wrapping techniques, which suffer from poor weather resistance and long construction periods. After three years of intensive research and development, the Hongchenghong R&D team has combined Germany’s Aue Eer company’s advanced extrusion-and-drawing technology with a self-developed spray-coating process to create a “spray-coating plus wrapping” dual-layer protective system.
The inner layer employs high-pressure airless spraying technology, using an adjustable spray gun to evenly coat the inner wall of the pipeline with materials such as epoxy powder and polyurethane, forming a dense coating that is 0.5–2 mm thick. This coating offers 40% improved corrosion resistance compared to conventional methods. The outer layer, meanwhile, is applied by an intelligent winding machine that tightly wraps the PE black-and-yellow jacket pipe in a spiral pattern, with overlap width errors kept within ±1 mm, effectively preventing the penetration of moisture and oxygen. The dual-layer structure creates a “physical + chemical” double barrier, capable of meeting the demands of extreme environments ranging from -50°C to 120°C, and extending the service life to over 30 years. Customized production: covering everything from millimeter-level precision to pipe diameters spanning hundreds of meters.
To meet the personalized needs of different scenarios, Hongcheng Hong has invested tens of millions of yuan to upgrade its production lines, enabling “customizable dimensions and rapid delivery.”
In terms of pipe diameter compatibility, the equipment supports processing pipelines across the full range from DN25 to DN1600 millimeters. It can handle as small as 25-millimeter thin pipes used for residential heating systems and as large as 1.6-meter ultra-thick pipes required by large-scale chemical industrial parks. Regarding customized lengths, individual pipes can reach up to 18 meters in length. By using a modular pipe-feeding machine, seamless splicing is achieved, reducing the number of on-site construction joints and thereby lowering the risk of leaks.
For special operating conditions, the company also offers a “function-overlapping” service. For example, we can add anti-fouling coatings to pipelines on offshore platforms, install thermal insulation and reflective layers on pipelines in desert regions, or even embed smart monitoring chips according to customer requirements to provide real-time feedback on pipeline temperature and pressure data. Currently, this service has been applied to international projects such as the China-Russia East Pipeline for natural gas and the heating project for the Suez Canal in Egypt, with customized orders accounting for over 60% of total business.
Smart Factory: “72-Hour Rapid Response” from Order to Delivery
To ensure the efficient implementation of customized services, Hongcheng Hong has built the industry’s first “intelligent spray-winding workshop” at its production base in Jiaozhou, Qingdao. In this workshop, the CAD computer-aided design system is linked with CNC machine tools, enabling the generation of 3D machining drawings within two hours after a customer places an order. AGV carts automatically transport raw materials to designated workstations, reducing errors caused by manual handling. Six-axis robots precisely control the angle of spray guns and winding tension, ensuring that every pipeline meets identical process parameters.
“In the past, customizing a batch of non-standard pipelines—from design to shipment—would take at least 15 days. Now, thanks to our intelligent production scheduling system, we can complete production and load the trucks for shipment within just 72 hours,” said Zhou Zhaohua, the company’s technical director. Currently, the workshop has a daily production capacity of 200 tons, and its inventory turnover rate has tripled, enabling it to handle even urgent orders with ease. For example, in December 2025, a heating company in northern China urgently needed to replace 500 meters of DN800 pipeline due to a sudden leak in its network. Hongchenghong completed the entire process—from design and production to transportation—in just 68 hours, ensuring that residents’ winter heating supply remained unaffected.
Service Upgrade: “Butler-style” Support Throughout the Entire Lifecycle
Hongcheng Hong’s services extend beyond the production stage to encompass the entire lifecycle management of pipelines. The company establishes a digital archive for each custom-made pipeline, recording information such as raw material batches, process parameters, and quality inspection reports. Customers can trace the entire process data simply by scanning the QR code on the pipe’s surface. In addition, the company has assembled a technical service team led by six senior engineers, offering value-added services including on-site installation guidance, corrosion coating repair, and service life assessment.
“We once provided pipeline corrosion protection services for an offshore oil and gas platform in the Philippines. Five years after the project went live, our client reported that the coating’s integrity rate remained as high as 98%,” said Zhang Qidong, General Manager of the company. “Looking ahead, Hongchenghong will continue to deepen its collaboration with universities and research institutions, exploring the application of new technologies such as nanomaterials and 3D printing in the field of pipeline corrosion protection. With even higher-quality products and services, we will help upgrade global energy infrastructure security.”
